Stephen L. Rosen - Photography, Architecture
Stephen Rosen is the author of Public Architecture: Concept To Form, An Exhibition of Architectural Photography (2006). The book is a series of photographs of Seattle architecture such as the Washington Mutual building, City Hall, McCaw Hall, Seattle Central Library, the Experience Music Project (EMP), Two Union Square, and the Columbia Center. Rosen's photographs illustrate the aesthetics of contemporary design - its crisp lines, its undulating forms, and innovative shapes. A reviewer says of Rosen's work that his "use of large-format cameras, supersaturated color film, and digital manipulation achieve a striking black-and-white isolation of each building, brilliantly relating the poetry of structure using light, shadow and geometry".
