Joyce Cole lived for decades in Alaska. She relocated to Seattle, and
then across the water to Bainbridge Island, in a household that now
includes a predatory but lovable Manx cat (no tail!) named Bruno, and a
standard poodle named Rusty, who is in perpetual motion. Stephanie has a
law degree from UCLA and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University
of Alaska, Anchorage. Since 1986, she has been associated with Alaska
Quarterly Review (AQR), an award-winning literary magazine housed at the
University of Alaska, Anchorage. She is currently a Senior Affiliate
Editor for AQR. "My
goal is to write books that are entertaining and also
thought-provoking, stories that will carry readers into an adventure in
small-town Alaska.
"Compass North" can be described as mystery/suspense,
women's fiction, romantic fiction or plain old mainstream fiction.
