Eric Freeman - Programming
A computer scientist with a passion for media and software architecture, Eric Freeman is the former co-director of the Head First series of books at O'Reilly Media. He is also the co-author of several 'how-to' books on programming: JavaSpaces ™ Principles, Patterns, and Practice (1999), written with Susanne Hupfer and Ken Arnold; Head First Design Patterns (2004), written with Elisabeth Freeman, Bert Bates, and Kathy Sierra; and Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML (2005), written with Elisabeth Freeman. The books have been award-winning bestsellers, translated into eight languages and selling more than a quarter million copies between them. The Head First Series will expand in 2011 with the release of a new book focusing on HTML5. A colleague says about Freeman that he "is one of the smartest people I've ever met, yet those who've read one of his books know that he has a gift for communicating tough technical topics to the differently-educated."
